In the Clarification of Terms section of A Course in Miracles, Jesus tells us that the ego asks many questions such as, “How did the impossible occur?”, “To what did the impossible happen?” C-In.4:3 Yet he assures us that there is no answer to these types of questions, only an experience. This talk can help point us to the experience that will end all doubt.
Gold Nugget:
“Jesus says that when we try to prepare for the holy instant, we are taking on a function that is not ours. You can’t plan for it because when you try to plan or prepare for it, you are placing it in the future, and it is not. He says you can experience it by desiring it. Jesus puts a lot of emphasis on the words, ‘will’ and ‘willing.’ He tells us instead of ‘Seek ye first the Kingdom of Heaven,’ which is in the Bible, he says, ‘Will ye first the Kingdom of Heaven.’ T-3.VI.11:8 That’s how strong he is in the Course. Will ye first the Kingdom of Heaven. In the Bible, it says the Kingdom of Heaven is within. He comes in strong in the Course assuring us that ‘The word “within” is unnecessary.’ T-4.III.1:3 ‘You are the Kingdom of Heaven.’ T-5.II.4:1 He is saying, Let’s go for this here. Let’s go for this experience. Will ye first the Kingdom of Heaven.
So, what is that willingness? Well, that is our part. We take our willingness and combine it with the might and strength and power of the Holy Spirit. Our little willingness, combined with the power of the Holy Spirit, ignites the experience. It’s like a candlestick and a match. Our part is to light the match and bring it into the candle, which will burn for a long time, much longer than the match. It’s very powerful!”
