David Hoffmeister holds a Q&A session with the students on day two of the Tabula Rasa Mystery School. He opens the session by reminding the students that there may be extreme emotions to face during this month, but with willingness and an open mind we can expect many miracles and synchronicities to carry us along. Questions include: 1. Do the 12 step program and the Course go together? 2. Commitment in terms of content and when do we start to see the goods? 3. A question on going backward on the spiritual journey. 4. Is being gay an abomination? 5. Paramahansa Yogananda and eastern philosophy. 6. Abuse and victimization. 7. Sickness.
The goal of the spiritual path is mysticism, which could be described as the gateway to Enlightenment or to the real world. Enlightenment is when the mind has been emptied of all concepts and beliefs, leaving only the pure experience of your Christ-Self in union with God. As you sink deeper into mysticism the ego’s voice will get louder and more vicious, throwing up lots of future fear-thoughts to keep your mind from continuing its journey into stillness. The ego has no existence in the stillness of Christ, and so all fear is really the ego’s fear of nonexistence. For this reason, trusting the Holy Spirit is key and will guide you through the layers of ego resistance again and again, until the ego has been released from the mind entirely. Go for God 100%.
A Course in Miracles teaches: “You have but two emotions, love and fear.” T-13.V.1 Ultimately the only thing we are afraid of, is Love. The ego would have you believe that there are other, specific things in the world to fear, because it wants to protect itself from being exposed to the light of truth: the things it wants you to fear are actually just distractions to keep you from the awareness of your desire for God. Under the Spirit’s Guidance, miracles occur absolutely involuntarily; every person, every place, and every situation will be used for the healing of your mind.
Join David Hoffmeister during this inspiring talk on answering the Call of your Heart. If you want to experience the leap into Spirit, make the commitment now! You are not choosing a situation or agreeing to a specific assignment, but opening to a state of mind. You are answering the Call to transcend the world. This is the relinquishment of a belief in a separate self with separate interests. David reads from Clarence Steves’ Sermon on the Mount, a speech purely from the Spirit: “Never accept the suggestion that you are a ‘loving person,’ or a ‘good student.’ Love is never personal, nor are there ‘good students.’
David Hoffmeister shares just how practical spirituality can be. As you get in touch with your internal teacher, the Holy Spirit, and ask for His interpretation to come through you, you are washed clean of the ego’s judgment, and can learn to think with God.
