Trust, Follow, Be Taken Care Of – Join David Hoffmeister as he looks at the importance of trust and following guidance as a means to the end. Other themes include fear of hurting other people’s feelings, control, releasing family people-pleasing, and releasing false responsibilities to give way for our true responsibility—our state of mind. Near the end of the session, everyone listened to the song “You raise me up,” and tears of concern and release were felt. Laughter erupted and the Spirit poured through with deep healing and bursting, cascading laughter.
Pulling the Plug on the Ego – The mind that is trapped in the ego is seeking freedom in the world. Do not attempt to understand or figure out this world. The Course teaches that “My meaningless thoughts are showing me a meaningless world.” W-11 It is the mind that needs help and healing. To the degree that we do not define the problem, we can allow the Spirit to guide us to find the real problem (belief in separation) and real solution (Atonement).
How to Let Go of Judgment – How do we make this shift of mind from following the ego and aligning with all its judgments to having a clear Christ-like mind? The Holy Spirit’s practical, moment to moment guidance is the answer. Each time we follow the Spirit’s specific directions, it helps to wash away our separate sense of self, and our lives begin to take on an ease and a flow. You start to feel empowered and more and more like you are not in the world. Other themes in this talk include: Awakening and taking responsibility for our state of mind.
This talk delves into the stillness and joy of mysticism. We are reminded that unlike what we may have been taught, we have just one responsibility and that is to simply be happy. As our minds let go of other worldly responsibilities and concerns, we discover that everything has been provided for our happiness with no exceptions.
“A Course in Miracles” is about making your mind ready for revelation which comes from Spirit to Spirit. Everything in this world aims at the experience that the past is over and can touch you not. This world is only an experience of your mind, and is not apart from it. The straight and narrow path is non-judgment. Let go into the experience that all form is an image in the mind. If you see magnificence in the world you’re simply coming into the experience of your own magnificence. History and studying this world is really much ado about nothing and your daily experience can always be of happiness, joy, and welcoming. “The holiest spot on earth is where an ancient hatred has become a present love.” T-26.IX.6:1 Prepare for the undoing of what never was; take it easy and learn to laugh. In the end it takes Jesus to reveal the meaning of forgiveness and the real world to you and there is nothing you must do.
