All symbols are used to free the mind and bring it into its natural state of brilliance and jubilation. The Spirit is not afraid of anything. You can be your authentic self: very loving, very friendly, very happy, and offending no one. The miracle of forgiveness offers everything you want.
This world is a distraction that was made to keep you mindless. As you start to pull away from these distractions it will seem that your life gets more tumultuous. The top tier of your self-concept, or “face of innocence,” (T-31.V.2:6) was made to prevent you from looking upon a self that you believe is draped with sin. As you join with your mighty companions and have the willingness and courage to look at this dark and hidden self, you approach what is underneath and what you are in truth: pure blazing light!
As you begin working with the ideas of “A Course in Miracles,” fear may arise. It is only ego-thinking that causes upset. To attain a state of sustained happiness, you must free the mind of ego-thinking and become reliant only on Spirit.
David shares powerful insights about how clever the ego is in tricking us into believing that the separation from God has occurred. Though the ego is ingenious, ingenuity will never set the mind free to experience its true Identity as Spirit. There is need for help from beyond the dream and the Holy Spirit is that help. David speaks with humor and divine clarity about how to let go of this insane thought system of stress and fear and return to our True Identity. He shares helpful ways to trust your intuition, listen to that small still voice and follow it, in order to be unwound from the illusion.
Allowing emotions to surface supports the release of the stories of the personality self. Healing is available now, and emotions need not be covered over or avoided. The release of emotions can seem destructive to the ego; let present trust direct the way. Clinging to the false identity, which is the belief in guilt, is your only block to the healing miracles of Spirit! When you feel guilty you project outside yourself and want the world, people, and situations to be different from what they are. Don’t compromise your healing by projecting your guilt; step back, allow the emotions to come to the light, and let healing be your only purpose.
