Jobs and relationships are symbols Spirit can use for healing. When you give your life to Spirit, all aspects of your life are devoted to the Purpose of Awakening and every relationship is seen as a total commitment. Your light wants to shine through, and all symbols of this world are tools to be used for this Purpose!
The Holy Spirit guides you through roles the ego made to unwind you from them. When you are playing a role (mother, teacher, boyfriend, etc.), you want control as a “doer.” As you follow Spirit’s guidance, you allow the grip of control to loosen, and move from doing into being. You are not here to take on a spiritual role. Instead, all roles are concepts in the mind to be undone with the Spirit.
How can I know that I am sustained by God? It helps, when venturing into something that seems unknown, to hear from those who have taken the leap before you. David Hoffmeister shares that the journey into divine providence is one of trust, which means letting go of all “plan Bs,” truly giving yourself and your life over to the the Spirit’s Plan, and allowing yourself to be sustained by Love; sustained by God!
This path is always about honoring the Purpose. What is the purpose of this life? Jesus would say it is healing the mind of everything untrue. Through him you develop trust, honesty, holy relationship, and commitment. If there is any sense that there could be another plan than going Home, or a “plan B”, you must let the Holy Spirit strengthen your commitment and expose all of the distrust in your mind. Make God your Plan A, and let go of any backup plans once and for all! The rewards will be beyond your imagination!
Certainty does not rest on future events or circumstances. It allows all things to be exactly as they are, and simply rests. When you try to plan and predict from the ego’s perspective, you live in uncertainty and often feel anxious or fearful. Dive into the depths of the true meaning of certainty and the practical steps towards experiencing the Certainty of God all throughout the day. Become clueless, and, “Hold onto nothing. Do not bring with you one thought the past has taught, nor one belief you ever learned before from anything. Forget this world, forget this course, and come with wholly empty hands unto your God.” W-189.7
