“The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand, and the hand is very close. It is very intimate. It is not something that you have to search for. The Kingdom is a state of mind. Jesus Christ is a state of mind. And it is our state of mind. Not as persons. The Bible teaches us ‘God is no respecter of persons.’ (Acts 10:34) The person is a mask. It was never who we are, and it will never be who we are. We are not trying to become perfect human beings. It is emptying the mind of all personal thoughts. In the present moment, there is no male or female, no past, no future, no masculine, no feminine, no degrees, no levels, no gradations—it is simply love.
And A Course in Miracles teaches us that love is reached through forgiveness. Not forgiveness of what has happened, but the experience that nothing has happened. Nothing has ever gone wrong, and nothing has ever gone right in this world. Forgiveness is not just letting go of negative thinking; it is letting go of positive thinking. All the wishes and desires for the world to be a certain way. All expectations projected onto the world. We have to do more than forgive the bad; we have to forgive the good. ‘Cause good and bad are part of duality. But the Kingdom of Heaven transcends all duality. The Kingdom of Heaven transcends wishing that the world would be different. Even the idea of self-improvement, self-betterment, trying to change your personality, or have a better personality. It takes away all the effort and worry and concern.
There seems to be many pathways to God, but in my heart I know that it is forgiveness. I think all of us know in our hearts forgiveness is the way. Not judging anyone, holding no grievances, feeling innocent, and seeing everyone as innocent. Everyone included in that same innocence. Because guilt and innocence cannot coexist. If innocence is real, guilt is impossible.”
