“You personally don’t have to figure out the means of salvation or means of forgiveness. You don’t have to figure out what the problem is. That’s the old way. Remember how we were taught when we grew up? If you want to solve a problem, first, you have to define the problem. And Jesus is like, Well, that’s true, but that even the definition of the problem will not solve the problem unless you accept the solution. And that’s why he’s saying, just follow your intuition, follow your joy, follow your inspiration. Don’t try to figure it out. Just follow it when you feel happy and joyful. That’s important. You need to acknowledge that happiness and joy, and then follow that and go with that.

And like in the Bible, Lot’s wife was told, ‘Anything you do, don’t look back, or you’re turned into a pillar of salt.’ You know, that’s pretty graphic. But actually, when we do look at the world from a past perspective, then that is the pillar. It’s just solid and frozen. There’s no joy. There’s no expansiveness. There’s no fluidity. That’s what the saying from the Bible is. So it’s almost like, Frances, what you were just saying, it’s like a moment of surrender, where Jesus is saying, ‘Resign now as your own teacher.’ T-12.V.8:3 You know, that we tried to teach ourselves how to get out of the world, and we forgot how we seem to get in. How are we going to figure out how to get out? You know, he’s like saying, ‘Resign now as your own teacher, and let the Spirit do it for you.’ And you know, I think that’s it. That’s the surrender where the joy comes in. Or you just say, Show me. Lead the way. But you’re looking more in the joy, the inner joy, and not trying to hold on to the ‘figure out the past’ equation. That’s not the way.”
