“This isn’t a God-given world. This is a projected world that’s coming from the error of the ego, from the belief in wanting separation from source, and from wanting a separate identity. And so there’s another Lesson that I want to quote that I really think encapsulates that, and it’s ‘I have invented the world I see.’ W-32 I have invented the world I see. Invention! It’s an invention. It’s fictitious; it’s make-believe; it’s made up! And I know there’s a lot of spiritualities and a lot of new age teachings, and a lot of times I hear this word, ‘create.’ ‘I created this world. I created my situation. I created my cancer. I created my sense of lack and struggle.’ No no, no, don’t even bother using the ‘creation’ word with this world at all, because you didn’t create it. It’s invented for sure, but it’s not created. Everything that’s created comes from God or from Christ. So God creates, in spirit, Christ creates in spirit, and Christ and creations that are purely spirit. But there is no creation at all; you don’t really create a painting; you don’t create a song; you don’t create absolutely anything. You could just forget about the ‘creation’ word in terms of this world.
A lot of us have grown up with all kinds of beliefs, like reincarnation. And you know, we sometimes say, ‘Well, my soul is on a journey.’ No, actually, your soul is not on a journey. It doesn’t journey at all. In fact, as we just heard from Svava, ‘Eternal soul, never born.’ (Svava Love, ‘Eternal’) You know, the ‘I am’ Presence, the spirit, divine love, divine light, that’s what your soul is. God created the soul. And your soul is perfect, eternal, innocent, and changeless. And it doesn’t go on any journeys. It never has and never will. So you don’t have to worry about your soul incarnating and repeating the mistakes of the past because it can’t incarnate. Literally, the Word, capital ‘W,’ cannot become flesh. Jesus tells us in the Course you can’t take an eternal soul and shrink it down into flesh and time-space terms.”
